Checking on the engines, making a repair to the generator, etc., etc.
Gary got up on the hard top to disconnect the radar. Someone we know with a similar boat actually slid off his hard top one day, crash landing onto a cleat on the side of the boat, and injuring himself so badly he spent several days in the hospital.
So he took precaution by fashioning a harness out of rope, and attached himself to the boat so if he slid off he would just dangle by one leg from the rope, rather than hitting the deck full force.
I was making a mental check list in my head while he was doing this tricky operation - would I call out for help first, or would I call 911?
Would I try to drag him up the ramp, unconscious, dead weight, or would I muster the strength to lop him into a dock cart and wheel him up to meet the ambulance? Fortunately I did not have to go into emergency mode at all, and he accomplished his tasks without incident.
