A Beautiful January Wedding

My friends Kathryn and David got married on Saturday, January 10. This was the main reason for my visit "up north". I was quite relieved to know soooooo many people at the wedding.

Immediately I latched on to my old cohort Dan during the ceremony. There was a funny/slightly awkward delay as all the men were standing at the front and we waited...and waited...and waited... for the bridal party to make their way down the aisle. Finally they got in place and the lovely ceremony continued. I later asked the MOB what the delay was attributed to. She said nobody came to get them from the suite was all. They had been up there for HOURS with hair and makeup people. Certainly worth the wait, Kathryn was STUNNING - and I especially loved the ostrich feather embellishment in her hair.

During the cocktail reception they had TVs because the Baltimore Ravens were playing and it was a critical win they needed to continue in the play-offs. Pretty funny how just about everyone was glued to the TVs as they won the game just before we went into the ballroom for dinner.

At the reception I was seated with my dear sweet precious friend and former assistant, Stacee', along with her husband Keath, sister Heather and their "adopted" sister Rosa. Also Nicola - who was dressed to the nines in chartreuse - with her companion. They made for a stunning couple, and lucky her - she caught the bouquet!

Dinner was a non-traditional spinach salad followed by a duo of Filet Mignon and stuffed chicken served with a wild mushroom risotto. All was beautifully presented and very tasty.

Throughout the evening I chatted with old friends and loads of Big M Hotel Co. folks, past and present. The GM of the hotel, who I worked with at the BMW, and have endless respect for, was a guest as well and we spoke about my possible plans to move back up to the region. He told me he'd put a bug in a certain someone's ear - and as it turns out - he did. Thank you Willie!

The cake cutting was slightly nerve-racking because David can be a little unpredictable and we held our collective breath as he gave the token first bite to Kat. Had he smeared it all over her face I think there would have been a riot. In the end he was sweet and delicate. Good boy.

I loved the cake topper, never seen one like this.

Kathryn's son Jordan was also in attendance, dapper in a mini tuxedo. I snapped this after he (like most of the guys) had taken off his jacket and tie. What a little cutie he is!

I don't know where they were going to be Honeymooning, but I know they were in Cancun back in April because we hung out there together at Golden Circle. (Woot!)

I left about 11:00 because it was starting to rain. Barbie just doesn't do so well in wintry weather conditions, so I wanted to be sure I got back to Debra's in one piece. Such a great day!
