Drinking Politics

From the online edition of Restaurants & Institutions "Beverage Briefing" that came out today, there are two new drinks of choice for the Political set, being served at a restuarnat in Beverly Hills called blue on blue:

Obamarita
Silver tequila 2 oz.
Blue curaçao 1 oz.
Lime juice, freshly squeezed ¾ oz.
Simple syrup dash
Prosecco splash
Lime twist to garnish
In mixing glass, shake tequila, blue curacao, lime juice and simple syrup with ice; strain into rocks glass with salted rim over ice. Top with Prosecco; garnish with lime twist.

McCainade
Bourbon 2 oz.
Almond-flavoured liqueur ½ oz.
Lemonade 1 oz.
Iced tea 1 oz.
Red currant-pomegranate syrup healthy dash
Lemon wheel to garnish
Cherry to garnish
In mixing glass, shake bourbon, almond liqueur, lemonade, iced tea and red currant-pomegranate syrup with ice; strain into hurricane glass over ice. Garnish with lemon wheel and cherry.
