I've been in Charlottesville since Sunday, visiting my friends Robin & Jan. C-ville is about an hour from Dad's, great proximity to swing by when I'm up here. Robin and I worked together at Wild Dunes Resort in Charleston (Isle of Palms) back in 1995. That was my first real job out of college, where I made $ .50 more per hour than at my part time job in college. Quite the rude awakening that was, to a new college grad who had a one-track mind to work a) in a city where they consider *being there* part of your compensation package and b) an entry level management position in Hospitality. Robin was my saving grace, and fast became my big sister - helping me to navigate life after college.
Fast forward 13 years and she's still my big sister helping me to navigate through life. She and Jan are the most holistically natural and eco-friendly people I know. They eat organic, they recycle everything, they have tons of plants & animals everywhere. Life with Robin & Jan is so easy going, so relaxing here, I’ve always felt like I’m at summer camp when I’m here. It’s such a joy!
